Previews Spotlight #135 (Jan->Mar) Deadline: Tue AM, Jan 1

Post by JohnMayo »

For the Previews Spotlight #135 (January), we are changing out the format for the month answering the question of "How do you pick what you get?"
What is your limiting factor: money, time, interest, space?
In a nutshell, how do you define/describe your comic collecting?
What sort of criteria gets something on or off your reading list?
How do you maintain, store and organize your collection?

Send in your clips by the end of the year (meaning I need to have them by the morning of January 1st, 2019).

Please send in a single clip with your name as the filename.

I've set up a Dropbox link for file submissions for Previews Spotlight #135: https://www.dropbox.com/request/4GtACPdFo4SAlNACpBSX
You can still email clips in if you prefer. Send the clips to: TheGuys@ComicBookPage.com

Fun topic this month! Hopefully I got the gist of what John was asking us to answer. I don't see how he and his cohorts can organize their thoughts for a whole podcast. I had to record my answers a half dozen times because I kept leaving something out! Anyway, looking forward to everyone's take on the questions.

I did want to elaborate on one thing I forgot in my responses. The one big pet peeve that would get a book off my pull list. As a reader whose monthly limit is mainly financial, I regretfully will drop books when they start to fluctuate too rapidly in price between issues ($5 and higher "special" issues) or start double/triple shipping on an inconsistent basis. And I really hate when the book suddenly spins off into several other series. I may like the title, but I don't like when publishers want me to like it at the expense of even their own other series being published. I'm happiest as a comics reader when prices are affordable enough for me to read a wide range of titles - not just a few expensive ones.
I read comic books for fun.

Really looking forward to this episode! I enjoyed everyone's submissions for the October episode in which the format was changed-up to accommodate vacation schedules. I think doing episodes like this now and then is a great idea.
