Eternals #1 - Before I begin, I should mention that I loved the Gaiman mini-series that came out a couple of years ago. This new series continues the same themes as that mini-series. I heard some people complained that this is too much of a set-up issue but since it has been a while since the mini came out, I thought it was well done. Daniel Acuna's art fits perfectly for this book (as opposed to the Flash). My old complaint was that he put Ikaris back into his original uniform. (I loved JR JR's redesigns). It looks I will be on the book for the long run.

Eternals #1 - I loved this series just like Hassan. The Acuna art fits the series really nicely and I think the story is a nice extension to Gaiman's mini.

Skarr Son of Hulk #1 - Nothing I hated, but nothing I loved either. I could see someone really loving this. but it's not really my cup of tea, so I'll be passing on the series from here on out. Conan in space is a pretty accurate description of this one. I'd rather read Conan from Dark Horse for my Conan fix & Nova for my space fix.

Cemetary Blues from Ronin Studios #1 This is the prequel self published series before the current image release. It was really a great story and was glad I found this at Heroes Con. I read all 3.

Strange Detective Tales 1-3 from Oddgod Press - Crime Noir series with monsters. Stars detectives Igor and Renfeld. I am glad I ran into this book at Heroes. I am not sure I would have noticed it in previews. I am not even sure of Oddgod has ever been solicited in previews.

Madame Xanadu #1 - Loved it. I was really hoping that this title would be good since I heard about last year. It did not disappoint. This title is great in terms of both story and art. This is one of the few Vertigo titles that I will be reading on a monthly basis.

House of Mystery #1 & #2 - This was ok. I really like the short-stories within the main story, but the main story is a bit weak for me. I already pre-order issue 3, but I will stop there if the series doesn't get better for me.

Secret Invasion: Runaways/ Young Avengers #1 - I made the patented Bob move and only pre-ordered the first issue as there are way too many SI spin-offs. However, I did enjoy both the story and art for this issue. It wasn't anything special but it was a fun read. I will be adding the other two issues to my pull list.

Madame Xanadu - Drop. I didn't care for it one iota.

Superman - On the fence. Robinson has me on board until at least the next issue to see what he's doing. Atlas seems like an interesting character, and it was really, really cool to see something from Legion continuity brought into modern day Metropolis.

Secret Invasion: Front Line #1 - I'm liking this better than any of the previous Front Line series. Almost a "Marvels" feel with ben Urich playing the Phil Sheldon role....

Squadron Supreme #1 - A lot better than I expected it to be. Has a real Ultimates universe feel, VERY different from previous Squadron Supreme book, so if you like Ultimate books, check this out. Also, features Ultimate Nick Fury!

Reign in Hell #1 (DC) - I' went into this with really low expectations after browsing through and just looking at the art, but the story really won me over. Very enjoyable issue and I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.

True Believers #1 (Marvel) - Wow! What a GREAT 1st issue. I suspect this is going to get overlooked by a lot of people, but this was a great read. Beautiful art by Paul Gulacy and a very nice story by veteran writer Cary Bates that ties this series right into mainstream Marvel & S.H.I.E.L.D. If you're skipping this one, you're making a mistake!

Madame Xanadu #1 - One of my favorite Veritgo titles right now. The artwork is beautiful and the story is one of the best DC magic stories I have read in years.

Reign in Hell #1 - Great characters but the story and artwork just were not good for me. It is weird because I loved Annihilation and this had a similar feel but with the magic characters. I am still on board but it really was hard for me to get through this book.

I agree on the art, it initially put me off, but the story (for me) was strong enough to offset it.....

Captain Action #0 (Moonstone) - The "First Mission, Last day really turned me off with it's "text story with facing page of full-page illustration" format. Frankly, if I'm going to read huge pages of text, I'll pick up a novel, this does not work for me in a comic. That being said, the #0 issue turned it around for me. Nice setup by Fabian Nicieze & great art by Mark Sparacio. If the #1 & beyond are like this zero issue, I'll be on board for this series.

Rest #0 (Devil's Due) - Interesting setup, but it was ALL setup. This series could go a couple of different directions, I'll have to wait until I read #1 to really be able to tell if I'm sticking with this for the long run.

Crossed #0 (Avatar) - Advertised as Ennis' most twisted work to date, this delivers on that promise. If you like that sort of thing, you should check this book out. John, steer WELL clear of this book!
