I don't know what Drew thinks but I think Nick Spenser would be a great choice to do Spider-Man after Slott.

yeah, he would be a fantastic choice, and not just because I had a great conversation with him at C2E2, but that helps

the latest episode included a super sized issue and the return of Archer & Armstrong - what did you think of these books or others releases on March 16th?
Weekly Comics Spotlight #449 (3/16/2016)
DC: LEGENDS OF TOMORROW #1
Marvel: INTERNATIONAL IRON MAN #1
Other: A & A: THE ADVENTURES OF ARCHER AND ARMSTRONG #1 [VALIANT]
in case you haven't listened yet - I included spoiler tags for our grades

Hey guys, love the podcast. But if I'm not mistaken, isn't Madame Masque name Whitney Frost, not Cassandra Gillepsie? I think this is a new character created for International Iron Man.

hmmm, you are correct, according to Marvels Wiki:
Cassandra Gillespie was the daughter of a weapons manufacturer rival of Howard Stark. Because of her mother's status, Cassandra was constantly escorted by bodyguards.
During a party while she was studying at the University of Cambridge, Cassandra was approached by fellow student Tony Stark, the (secretly foster) son of Howard Stark, who had had Cassandra on his sights for some weeks. In the middle of a scuffle, Tony and Cassandra slipped past her bodyguards. They eventually caught up to them and took her back.
The following days, Tony and Cassandra got to know each other better, and Cassandra invited Tony to have dinner with her family. At the end of the evening, Tony and the Gillespie were attacked by Hydra forces, who had targeted Cassandra's mother because she had "betrayed" their cause. Stark managed to take a gun from one of the Gillespie's fallen bodyguards and kill a Hydra soldier who had Cassandra's mother at gun point. However, Cassandra's father, Giorgio, died during the shootout.
In the present day, Tony Stark, as the super hero Iron Man, crossed paths with Cassandra when he was trying to find about his true parentage, following the discovery that Howard wasn't his real father
she looks like her though don't ya think

Yeah, except for the eye patch. We last saw Madame Masque in the first arc of the latest Invincible Iron Man, where she was possessed by some demon. Doctor Strange is taking care of her now.

Yes, Madame Masque is Whitney Frost.
This Cassandra Gillepsie might be a new character. Based on the framing sequence, I thought Iron Man was fighting Madame Masque. And, as a result, I figured the flashback sequence must be connected to the present day action and therefore figured that Cassandra Gillepsie was this Madame Masque. So, I might have been completely wrong as to what was going. If that is the case, I reserve the right to drop my grade (perhaps substantially) for the issue due to it being confusing.

Hi Drew and John,
Hyperion's writer, Chuck Wendig, has written the novel Star Wars: Aftermath. He is the upcoming writer of Marvel Comic's adaptation of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. He also co-writes Shield for Archie's Dark Circle Line (whenever that title ships). Also, I believe the Wonder Woman/Lois Lane interview issue John mention did not occur during Greg Rucka's run. I believe John was referring to Wonder Woman 170, that was during the Phil Jimenez era. **I am excited that Phil will be writing and co-drawing the Superwoman title for DC Rebirth. Not to take any away from Greg Rucka's run which was fabulous!

Thanks for the information.
You are correct about the Wonder Woman issue I was referring to. I did enjoy Greg Rucka's run on Wonder Woman as well as Phil Jimenez' run and clearly confused the two runs.
I haven't read Chuck Wendig's Star Wars novel but I haven't been reading many novels over the past few years. I have read Archie's Shield title the time or two is has shipped. The series has been plagued with delays since it was first solicited. Shield #4 has been solicited four times. I don't know why the series is have such troubles. I find it annoying.

John, are you going to review Black Panther #1 by Coates and Stelfreeze? I haven't read it, but it seems good. I also like Stelfreeze's art.
Also, about DC Rebirth, do you think Legion of Super Heroes will come soon? If so, would you like Hickman to write it? I'm not sure where he will fit into DC's plans.

Yes, we will be reviewing Black Panther #1.
FYI, we typically use the
expected shipping list to do our initial pick of what we will review in two weeks. So, last night when Drew and I recorded Weekly Comics Spotlight #451, we picked the items for Weekly Comics Spotlight #453 and confirmed the items for Weekly Comics Spotlight #452.
If you all have suggestions on which comics we should discuss, let us know and we'll consider them.
As for a Legion of Super-Heroes title, I'd be interested in that if they can find a good creative team with a good take on the concept.

I am game for that, big two titles will be much easier - its the indie titles where John and I don't have much overlap, but we are both pretty good about checking out new stuff if we can get press copies

I have only read one issue in the new arc, but I don't think that you have covered Gerry Conway's run on Carnage?
