Weird that they don't ship books that come out the same day together? I would want that simply b/c the way it's shipped is so flimsy, perhaps 2 books in the same package would be sturdier.BobBretall wrote:Quicker delivery on Justice League #13. It came out last Weds & I got it today, so 5 days.
But Wonder Woman #13 came out the same day & I didn't get it yet.

You'd think that would be efficient & save on postage, but it's not what they do.ctowner1 wrote: Weird that they don't ship books that come out the same day together? I would want that simply b/c the way it's shipped is so flimsy, perhaps 2 books in the same package would be sturdier.
I suspect the individual issues are packed/addressed by machine from a big hopper of the individual issues & combining things would require some amount of human intervention.
While I'm sure there's a pattern to it, it appears random what titles start your subscription on which issue.torchsong wrote:Still no JL13 for me. I wonder if I should contact Tanga or wait and see if 14 shows up next month. Thus far of the five I've ordered only Batman has shown up.
I think when my subs run out I'll go back to normal DCBS ordering for them even if they do the 1$ an issue deal again. The small savings get minimized when you buy the same book twice due to the overlap from starting and stopping.

Well, I'm so far so good - it was a bit of a treat when the books showed up outside of my usual DCBS schedule. Have they done these kind of sales before?boshuda wrote:While I'm sure there's a pattern to it, it appears random what titles start your subscription on which issue.torchsong wrote:Still no JL13 for me. PS. where in Western NY are you from, Boshuda? I went to school in Buffalo & Ithaca (although I guess Ithaca is "central") NY.

Tanga did a few titles on sale like this about one year ago. Green Lantern and Dark Knight were two that I subscribed to this year and last. Seems to be an annual thing, if you take a pattern of two to be a patternctowner1 wrote:Well, I'm so far so good - it was a bit of a treat when the books showed up outside of my usual DCBS schedule. It is nice when you open your mailbox and see the familiar DC packaging, I'll agree.
I'm smack dab in the middle of Rochester and Syracuse. I work in Rochester and go to grad school part time at Rochester Institute of Technology. I've been to Buffalo, never to Ithaca. A lot of the guys I work with went to Buffalo. Based on their knowledge it seems like a good school to go to for engineering.

Got Wonder Woman yesterday, so:BobBretall wrote:Quicker delivery on Justice League #13. It came out last Weds & I got it today, so 5 days.

Action #13 - 12 days
JL #13 - -5 days
WW #13 8 days
Weird part is the 3-day difference between JL & WW that were released on the same day.

Justice League 13 arrived in great shape yesterday. So far it's been a pretty good deal. Still waiting on Aquaman and Dark Knight but they may not have hit the shelves yet.
I should add that occasionally they (tanga) run insane subscription deals. I picked up 3 and four year subscriptions to Rolling Stone, ESPN magazine and Taste of Home, for under $20 each (as in roughly $4/year). All depends on if it's something you want to read, of course.
