Weekly Comics Spotlight #125 (Blackest Night #6)
The Dead planet in BN #6 is Xanshi see GL #49 for the lead in story with John Stewart.
The Rings:
-I believe the duplicated rings that Ganthet made are only good for 24hrs until th Indigos return with the rest of the Corps.
-Scarecrow getting the Yellow Ring is a call back to just after the Sinestro War issue in GL where the yellow ring tries to connect up with the Scarecrow in Arkham but is captured by Hal
-Blue ring...Barry is obvious choice seeing how John's brought back Barry and is one of the leads of the series. I am glad Superman didn't get the ring because Superman is just so powerful everyone else should just go home...I would have liked to see Capt. MArvel get it ....there was the oversized "Power of Hope" by Dini and Ross a few years ago

I have to agree, Captain Marvel would have been a great choice for the Blue Lantern.BobBretall wrote:Great point!Unknown Fanboy wrote:I would have liked to see Capt. MArvel get it ....there was the oversized "Power of Hope" by Dini and Ross a few years ago
One possible reason that Barry got the Blue ring is for Johns to pair up Barry and Hal that way Hal can benefit from the power boast a green ring gets from being in the presences of a blue ring. On the flip side being in the presence of a green ring Barry can use his Blue ring to it fullest potential.
So it makes sense to team the two of them up, they are best of friends, they have worked together many times and their rings would benefit from the two friends teaming up.

Sure, it makes sense to team those two up. No question about that. But the question is if Barry really is the most perfect embodiment of Hope on the planet. I'm not saying he isn't, just that I'm not 100% sold that he is.Webhead wrote:One possible reason that Barry got the Blue ring is for Johns to pair up Barry and Hal that way Hal can benefit from the power boast a green ring gets from being in the presences of a blue ring. To me Barry is not the best choice but I think Johns is sacrificing the best choice for what is going make a better story. Barry Allen is my favorite DC character and I am glad he is getting a starring role in Blackest Nigh but I would agree he would not be my first choice to receive a Blue Ring. As you said during the show Superman would of been a better choice, when you think of someone who inspires hope The Flash is not the first person who comes to mind.JohnMayo wrote:

Fair enough. I think he could have addressed that by tweaking the dialogue about Wonder Woman being the pick for Love to indicate that the picks were being made by balancing of being the best choice and being the closest choice.Webhead wrote:To me Barry is not the best choice but I think Johns is sacrificing the best choice for what is going make a better story. I just caught up with some my issues so I thought I would give this episode a listen. I would agree I thought Fall of the Hulks: Alpha was a great setup issue. It almost made me want to pick up Gamma which I had decided to skip. I am glad I skipped out of that book.
I was curious what you guys would think of Angel. I have been reading the book since the beginning and for me it was a nice carry over for what was already going on sort of. I can see where you guys are coming from, but I was kind of afraid they would scrap the story arc they were building beforehand. John is right the two characters you do not recognized were introduced between the end of the Fall and the current issue.
I said of earlier that it was a sort of a return because before this issue they had spent four issues with two semi standalone story arcs that refer back to After The Fall. So even for a hardcore fan it had been awhile since we had seen the current lineup together in a story.
