Marvel Comics Shame (...or "Me Smash Red Hulk!!")

Post by spectre71 »

I feel ripped off! I just read the Red Hulk collected edition and it was freaking loaned to me I got painfully through Volume1 :? Dear Christ what piece of (bleep) writing! :x Is Marvel serious with this that they actually paid Loeb to write this drivel. I can't even read volume two for the sheer fact I think I am going to so f'n, pissed by the end that I may swear off comics! Rulk blows goats I mean where is the continuity with the characters etc. WTF is with treating Thor like baby treats a diaper?! I normally don't read Hulk anyway, but I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. That's an hour I will never get back in my life! Save yourself DON"T READ IT! What the hell is up with hitting the Freaking Watcher. Seriously Loeb needs to re-examine his (bleep) or get a better editor at Marvel who isn't high when they read this stuff! All right just a quick update guess what...the second volume reveals nothing but more crap! No reveal of wtf Rulk is or who oh and man this is great the story explains that Wendigos are created by Humans cannibalizing. Got it cool, then HOW THE F*&% does the Green Hulk get transformed into one when he's bitten not to mention that this occurs almost immediately. F@#% me, this is the worst collected edition which may even be wors than Judgement Day and that was horrid! Marvel BLOWS!

On the bright side, you didn't have to pay for it.....

I dropped this book after 1 or 2 issues, myself. It's interesting, though, since it is consistently a top seller for Marvel. they raised the price to $3.99 for 22 pages and it's STILL a top seller.

SOMEONE is linking it.....

I like the book, but primarily because of the art. It actual reminds me of the Image books of the 90s. Great to look at, but not enough "story". I don't mind getting one book like this but I won't want the whole like to be written like this.

So did you buy the singles or the HC edition? I mean Art is great but I have got have a story line with some continuity to it otherwsie I would just go commission a piece of art which to me woul make more sense or buy posters. I mean I buy a comic to be entertained not just look at pretty pictures but thats just me. :D

The Hulk book is a head scratcher. Has no real shipping schedule, every page is a double splash page from Ed and Loeb's writing is just a hair better than his Wolverine arc which was gawdawful! And like Bob said, its a top seller.

The thing for me is that I'm not a huge fan of McGuiness art, so it's pretty easy for me to give this a pass.

I know a lot of people love McG, so I can see why those folks would be eating up this run. If it was all Art Adams or Frank Cho art (I bought the issues those guys did) I'd be buying this for the art too.

BTW, there is no way I am getting more than one "Hulk" title. I am trying Incredible Hulk 601 and depending on which one I like the most, I will be dropping the other title. I don't care for the Hulk-Family. With this and Wolverine, it seems that Marvel is using the old DC formula and adding sons/ daughter/ cousins to the mix and expand the number of characters without any real creativity.

Right now the only Hulk book I am not getting is the Rulk one. I like Greg Pak has done to build up the Hulk world. Hercules, the pseudo hulk book, is one of the best books Marvel puts out.

If youthought that was bad, 600 was really bad...especially since loeb just said not a month or 2 ago that 600 would be the reveal of the Rulk's true identity.

If we get lucky, it will happen and then Mephisto will wipe our minds clean and Rulk and Loeb will just go away.

I won't see Hulk #600 until next week, but we'll be covering it as an "extra" book on Episode #102

Suffice to say, if I wasn't expecting to see the Rulk revealed, the story told within would have been appreciated.

Now I am back to not caring anymore.

I was also under the impression that they would be revealing the identity of Rulk in #600.
