Eaglesham along with Hickman are taking over FF after Millar and Hitch. This really cool news. Here is a sketch of FF

DAMN...

Reed has been hitting the gym. He has not looked this buff since the Pérez days.

I now it makes more sense for him to look like the skinny college professor but I always liked the "bulky" Reed look.

Not sure I like the "buffed up" Reed. The visible veins in his forearm look particularly incorrect (for Reed) to me.

I am beyond giddy about this news. Hickman taking over for Millar is akin to Michael Bay being replaced by Darren Aranofsky. Awesome. And Eaglesham speaks for himself.

Best part about this news...I was told by Hickman himself!

Wow. That was pretty awesome.

I honestly liked Millar's run on FF, but Hickman on FF is going to be more interesting. His Image stuff was really good and his first issue of Secret Warriors was awesome. I am really looking forward to this title.

It also just made Dark Reign: Fantastic Four a must-buy if you are following the regular FF book.

Well he has to keep Sue happy, remember Namor is always sniffing around wait to step in at the first sign that Reed is not making Sue happy. So I can understand why he wouldf feel the need to buff-up

I love me some Dale Eaglesham, but pretty much everything I have read of Hickman's up to this point has left me cold. I'll wait until a few issues of the run are out and then consider picking it up to hear the buzz on it. I haven't been reading FF since Millar and Hitch came on board, what's a few more months before I potentially jump back on?

I've only read first 2 issues of Nightly News, but that book just didn't click with me. Probably the same reason I don't get into Alan Moore or Grant Morrison so much. I feel like if I want to read literature and meta type stuff, I'll do that via literature and read those that are great at it. These guys are more or less just "ok" in comparison for me. Greatness for me in comics occurs when writers work with the genre and not against it.

But maybe Hickman's stuff on FF will be really great. I love Eaglesham and I've been hoping for somebody to do a great FF run for 4 years now. Maybe Hickman/Eaglesham/FF == Johns/Eaglesham/JSA ??

While I agree that Reed looks buff, I think he did an excellent job drawing the others, especially making the kids look like kids.

I'm not sure if it is the angle that Reed is at or what but he almost looks like a Rob Liefeld Captain America. Other than that, the image looks great.

Yet another tweaking of the FF costumes but that seems to be par for the course with each new creative team. And, frankly, the original blue suits were and bit spartan in design. This short sleeve design looks cool. I suspect it will look even better in color.

As for Hickman's prior work that Wood listed, I've only read Pax Romana and Secret Warriors. I liked the concept of Pax Romana but the execution of it left me a bit cold. It was more of a prose story than a sequential art narrative. Granted, the story Hickman was trying to tell wouldn't really fit well into a four issue sequential art miniseries. But, that was what I thought I was buying from the solicits.

That same non-sequential art approach did make for a very interesting backup feature in Secret Warriors. It seem like that series has a lot more potential depth than I had original expected. Overall, I enjoyed Secret Warriors but don't have the future issues pre-ordered nor do I expect add them to my buying list until my current budget limitations are resolved. (Heck, without the budget limits, I'd have pre-ordered Secret Warriors and a *ton* of other titles.
