Re: DCBS Monthly Shipments
Sorry, my typing appears to be missing the month for the GI Joe Collected edition FOC date: 6/4/2018
Re: DCBS Monthly Shipments
So DCBS finally got back to me.
They simply cancelled Peter Parker 298 and Jessica Jones 17. They claim they were shorted, but it never occurred to them to replace them? And since they were initially listed as being in my final shipment, I suspect they couldn't replace them because the issues were no longer available at the time they decided to remove them from my shipment.
Since I sent them the email last week, Captain Marvel #129 Leg DEC170819 also moved from my pending shipment back to my "unshipped" list. It's very clear that they're just pilfering my order to sell the issues to someone else.
Plus, they promised to ship my final order three weeks ago, and it still hasn't happened. I'm beyond frustrated with them. Mostly I'm wondering how long it'll take to get my final box and what else will be missing.
Cameron seemed to run a tight ship for all those years and genuinely care about customers. I wonder if he's aware at how badly his operation is being run in Memphis?
Side Note: I got my first shipment from Kowabunga just now, and everything was included and in great shape. Thanks so much, Eric!

Re: DCBS Monthly Shipments
Nacho, sorry to hear about your problems with DCBS. After switching to Kowabunga.. I will never use DCBS again in the future. You are being held hostage and they don't treat you well. There were at least 10 -15 times when I would email them on a comic that was missing after a few weeks or a month. They would then just cancel the item and say "shorted", no notice about a short when they shipped everyone elses books until I emailed them. The crazy thing is that this happened a couple times at Kowabunga (shorts). Eric went above and beyond by emailing me proactively and asking if I would be okay with a second print or track down the issue at another shop. Wow service!nacho wrote:So DCBS finally got back to me.

Re: DCBS Monthly Shipments
Yeah, your experience mirrors mine at DCBS. Anything they don't feel like tracking down gets the "shorted, can't replace" excuse. But they don't bother getting replacements at the time of the short (which I thought was standard procedure when shortages happen, unless it's on a super-high-demand, sold-out book), and you only get a refund.... begrudgingly... months later... if you complain.
They're *supposed* to ship my final box this week, now that FCBD books are out. But they were magically "shorted" on one, so they'll probably hold it indefinitely waiting on a replacement that I suspect will never come. I don't even care about the FCBD issues at this point. They can keep them. I just want my shipment so that more issues don't get pilfered.
I resorted to buying all (so far) of my missing issues on ebay just to keep from worrying about it anymore. Kowabunga seems great, and I'm thrilled to have a retailer that actually cares about taking care of its customers. I run my own business, and we bend over backwards for our clients, and it's nice to do business with others that share that same mentality.
