Good selection. Larry Hama wouldn't make my list but the others are certainly strong candidates for my picks. Another writer who did a like around that time frame and not enough since is Marv Wolfman.spid wrote:Mine is pretty easy it would mostly draw from comics from my youth.
Larry Hama - The comic that got me into comics and shaped my expectations for what I want in a comic.
Mark Gruenwald - Captain America is my favorite character because of his run.

Re: Your MOUNT RUSHMORE of comic book WRITERS
I just read this one and I agree, it didn't disappoint. I'd hoped for a bit more story but Dixon and Guice did an excellent job of moving things along with minimal text, and we got some nice character moments (Wynn "going shopping" on the abandoned ship", their conversation about the nature of their relationship) while establishing the environment's harsh bleakness. I actually felt a little colder reading it -- pretty nifty achievement, considering it's July in Texas. I'll definitely be looking for the original trade.fudd71 wrote:jacovny wrote:fudd71 wrote:
I hope you enjoy Winterworld, I know I loved the first issue. If you find you particularly enjoy it, the older trade is well worth reading as well.
While I certainly miss the art of Jorge Zaffino, Butch Guice while being different is certainly not a step down.

Chuck Dixon
Marv Wolfman
Frank Miller
Chris Claremont
Similar to Fudd's, but only 4 and no, I do not care for Mark Waid. His recent run on Captain America is weak.... Not really looking forward to Coates' upcoming run on Cap either.
