ROUND TABLE EP: Star Wars Comics - CANCELED

Post by BobBretall »

We're finally going to do the show on Star Wars comics, but we need help. Since Bob does not really read Star Wars comics, we need other folks to contribute to make any meaningful discussion.

* Do you read the current Dark Horse Star Wars comics? (some or all)

* Do you want to share your thoughts on them?

* Discussion can also extend to previous comics incarnations of the Star Wars franchise (Marvel & the Newspaper strips) if there is interest/experience...

* Do you have Skype or a US phone # John can call?

NOTE: We're moving this back to Nov. 11th, lots of folks were not available on the 28th, plus we don't have an open slot on our airing schedule to put this up until later in November anyway.....

Please e-mail theGuys@ComicBookPage.com if you are interested & available on Tue Nov 11th at 9pm eastern for 90 minutes or so.

I can do it...and i can give you a perspective as one who read the original Marvel stuff and I am now presently reading Rebellion and Legacy

e mail me and let's talk about it and I can give you my skype info.

Only thing is, I do think I have a meeting that night also so if by chance we can move the time around to accomodate then that would be good!

Keep me posted!

I'll check my roster when I'm back at work tomorrow to see if I can make it.

OK, here's the scoop:

I don't read Star Wars comics

John reads some, but is by no means an expert.

We decided to do the round table because there seemed to be several people interested in it as a topic, and John & I were not going to do it without backup from people who had more expertise/enthusiasm.

No one showed up for the recording tonight, so we're going to call this topic dead until such a time that there is a literal outpouring of enthusiasm for another run at the topic.

I bumped this thread as a reminder.

We are still interested in doing it if there are people that want to participate. But since Bob doesn't read Star Wars comics and I'm currently only reading Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars: Clone Wars and the Vector crossover (but I do have a Drawer Box filled with older Dark Horse Star Wars comics), it didn't make sense to do an episode on it with just me and Bob.

I'd be happy for it to happen over on "The Next Issue" show instead of CBP. I have zero attachment to the topic.

I guess I should correct myself and say that I am still interested in doing an episode on Star Wars comics if there are people interested in participating in such as episode. Mind you, I'm not overly passionate about doing such an episode either.

I own a bunch of Legacy issues and am planning on reading the Vector trades as they get to me, but I am woefully unversed in the Star Wars comics to date.

I've read a few hundred but that seems to be a drop in the bucket compared to how many are out there. I don't think I've read any of the Marvel run and I dropped out of the Dark Horse run of titles for a good while. And that is why I wanted someone who has read more of it than I have to participate.
