Don't be surprised if Marvel "splits" Spider-Man into two books...

Possibly, and it wouldn't shock me, but with all the ancillary Spider based titles, wouldn't they have to shut down Avenging to do so? I just don't see them bringing yet another Spidey solo book to the stands, when Amazing will prabably, upon its inevitable return, still be bi-weekly.

Again, not saying they won't throw a third out there, they have before and Marvel, like most companies, love to make customers buy stuff.

I'm just putting myself into the heads of the decision makers at Marvel. If Spider-Ock (that's what I'm calling him) sells well I can see them thinking about leaving that character in his own book and also relaunching Amazing with Peter back in the spidey threads.

Like all books, I'm just hoping for a good story. As ridiculous as the current arc may be I am hanging in there...for now.

They'd have to split them apart first, right? Aren't Ock & Peter sharing a body?

I'm guessing Ock will get an android body with 8 limbs, maybe going back to something near the "classic" look for the arms. But a clone is always possible since it's Spider-Man.

Well, after reading issue #2 of this title, I realized how once again Dan Slott has pulled me into his spider world, only to crumble my enjoyment to dust. It seems that at least once a year, I fall prey to an issue or two of his (wanting so much to get back into Spider-Man ... in any form, Bob ) and I actually enjoy what I read. When I then commit to his writing and get more of his books, much like a spider, he commits the act of crushing me under his boot.

When will I learn that, aside from the rare issue, I do not enjoy Dan Slott's writing? I tried his much lauded SHE-HULK and walked away green myself ... with nausea, and I keep trying Spider-Man. I get sucked in from a good issue or two (the first part of the Big Time arc in #s 648-650, the two part time travel story I Killed Tomorrow in #s 678 and 679 and now SUPERIOR) and then soon after get reminded of how much I don't enjoy his stuff.

No-more. Done with falling for the Slott trap. This was not a good issue by any means and it has fortified my no-Slott resolve!!!

He is kind of a lovable loser, isn't he? His stilts are such a ridiculous way to try to perpetrate crimes, yet time and again he comes up with a new stilt design, robs a tall building, gets his face kicked in by Daredevil, only to pop up again with the same plan. Ha, I love it.

I just finished issue 3. I'm really enjoying this series so far. It's a little slow paced though. I'd wish they'd speed it up a little

I've been digging it, too. It's interesting to see Ock as Spidey, and Pete's still there - and aside from that, we still have the regular supporting cast.
