After returning the worst piece of technology since the zune... the microsoft surface... I have purchased my first tablet! I got a samsung galaxy 10.1!
Of course I have downloaded comixoligy, marvel AR and marvel comics apps.
Any other good apps out there for comics fans?
Additionally has anyone bought the Collectorz.com app? I did and can't figure out how to load my collection to it. Of course the support manual is for the i-pad... grrr.
Anyway... any recommendations for cool stuff would be MUCH appreciated

I have the CollectorZ app for Comics, book and Movies. The tablet apps are viewers for the desktop programs. The CollectorZ wesbite has instructions for how to export the collection data from the program and transfer it to the tablet app.
I'm looking at getting a 7" tablet and am narrowing my interest to the Nexus 7. Does anyone have one and use it to read comics? If anyone is using a 7" tablet to read comics and would like to share their opinions I would appreciate it.
Me too, though I am thinking about the Nexus 10 as I would never leave the house with it, so the more compact and travel friendly size of the 7 would not be a true benefit ... other than for the ease of handling and more natural fit in the hand of course
I have a laptop and desktop for my home use. I am looking for a relatively inexpensive gadget for a more portable platform.
The 32GB Nexus 7 is available for $250 and compares favorably to the Kindle Fire HD at that price point.
I'm interested in the comics reading experince on the 7". I didn't care for comics reading on my phone, it's just too small. I'm hoping the 7" screen is a more reasonable size for comics reading.
I purchased a Nexus 7 back in November and I use it to read everything - newspaper (which is cheaper digitally than physically, hint... hint... Marvel/DC), websites, this forum, and comics. Android 4.2 is smooth. Comixology is easy to navigate. The only part that took me a little time to adjust to is reading the comics one panel at a time instead of turning pages and seeing all the panels work together to reveal the story. Reading pdf comics are not bad at all either.
I still buy 10-15 books a month from my lcs, but searching and finding back issues to read digitally is nice.

You will love the Nexus 7.
While it took me awhile to get use to reading digitally on a laptop, I just can't get used to reading in guided view. AKA the one panel at a time like on a phone. How does reading a full page look on a 7 inch screen?

That is my worry. I have a desktop (no laptop) and I want to read digital comics on the sofa or in bed at night, but I want them to be as close to the actual comic reading experience as possible. I worry that anything less than a 10" will not be what I am looking for.

I actually have both a 7" and 10" that I have used for reading comics. I like the 7" more for traveling or reading when I am out. But I find the experience so much more comfortable on the 10" if I read at home or at my desk at work.
I find the Nexus 7 text on a full page a little hard on the eyes at the end of the day. The text can be read; it's just a little small. Guided view is preferable on a 7" screen.
One other thing... Comparing digital to their physical counterparts I noticed the brighter colors on the tablet - which is very enjoyable.
