Comic-Con and First Avenger Movie

Post by atomic99 »

Because of Comic-Con, the First Avenger movie is starting a day early on Thursday the 21st with showings all day at Horton Plaza.

The first showing at 10am is apparently free and Chris Evans will be there to open the movie. (I guess I'll be heading over after getting my SDCC 2012 ticket).

But just in case it is a crowd mess, I locked in a 12 noon showing (3-D though).

Horton Plaza is an easy walk from the con.

It is. I saw Apollo 13 there years ago. I really didn't think they would do much at Comic-Con this year for the movie (thinking they would be looking forward to next year) but I'm glad I'm wrong.

I have no desire to try to see the movie during the day during con. I'd much rather be going to con panels, etc. than seeing a movie that I can see at night when there is no main con going on.

Some people had expressed an interest in going somewhere away from the Con to see it Friday night......

Can I get a roll call of who still wants to go Friday night?

I rather drive some where away from the con to see Captain America. I'm not willing to deal with a crowd to see a movie after dealing with the Con crowds all day

Let me know what you guys decide. I wasn't getting much interest a few days ago so I locked in the Horton Plaza thing for 3-D knowing full well I want to see the movie twice in 3-D and 2-D.

After Tuesday night, I'll be without internet for a week.

Our original plan (I thought) was to jump in a car Friday evening & go find a showing somewhere away from downtown.

I'm up for it (& my son Stephen), but if it's just the 2 of us, I'll wait until I get home from con.

I think I'm going to have to wait. I wanted to go Friday night, but now that my family is coming with me and Ralph going in the middle of the day, I think I'll probably spend time with them Friday evening.

For me, I'd rather be at the con during con hours than at the theater.

I got nothing going on Friday night so I can always be talked into Cap again (2-D), dinner, or one of the evening panels.

I'm not gonna make it to a cap showing this weekend. Top much other stuff going on. I think I'll be busy recording a "half time show" podcast right after the show on Friday, but might be down for a mellow dinner that night if anyone is interested.

I think Cap is turning into a "no go" for just about everyone on Friday.

If someone wants to do dinner somewhere, get ahold of me & we can work something out.
