Troy Hickman and Ivory Madison

I feel a certain connection with these writers as they were quite open with the fans. I am now loyal to them. Fortunately, they are smart writers.

Right, I realize that.

The point I'm making (and doing a terrible job of it) is that it's douche-y to up prices when it's advantageous to you and not pass on any savings to your customer. I feel like I'm being asked to suck them off but they never even bought me dinner.

I forgot to mention something else. I wouldn't mind if retailers up priced their books according to ebay going prices if they would do it across the board. So that if a book sells less than cover on ebay they sell it for less on the shelf. The selective gouging of the customer on certain books is wh...

There are three stores in my town. One of them is a used books and magazine store that also carries comics. I don't go there because there is not one iota of culture. The other, my regular store up until a few days ago, screwed me out of a design contract. Not the manager's fault, the owner's. So I ...

Update. My wife seems to have no interest in JL#1 but loved Animal Man.

So I had my friend Clint read this book (he actually asked me if he could read it after I wrote this article: http://www.stashmycomics.com/blog/?p=2498 ). He is a lapsed reader and now wants to come back to DC with the digital initiative. Here's what he said after reading the book. I'll try to quot...

Specific means specific. A specific reference to the Blue spotted Bluejay is not "birds." Dude you are a freaking confusing individual. So basically your problem with the book is that Batman has cars and Green Lantern should have known that and three lines of dialog are (bleep). And you e...

I'll be trying the first issue. I mean, it's got lots of things I like. Like theoretical physics for instance.

There are several examples that I quoted above where people were very positive about what you specifically call out as "crap dialogue". I don't see any specific references to the dialogue exchange I cited in any of those quotes. If they are thinking specifically about that exchange when t...

I checked all three of my town's stores. One store sold out and specifically told me they ordered deep. I don't know the number but they are the store with the biggest selection of comics so I'm guessing more than 200 probably closer to 300. The other store, which is a gaming store first and comics ...

Everything I need to know about this issue I got from this dialogue: Batman: "You flew us to Metropolis in a glowing green jet?" GL: "You can't fly, so how else were we going to get here? Talk in a deep voice?" That's awful writing folks, on so many levels. It's cliche, it's unn...

I have to say, I didn't like this except for the ending. When the big bad villain shows up at the end, I have no interest in reading his master plan that happened in the past. I want to see those events unfold, not be told how they unfolded. Johns has a propensity for this, especially when he writes...

Justice League #1

Did you read your copy? I got mine and liked it! This creative team could have pointed to the bleachers, swung for the fence and risk a whiffle. But instead they played smart ball, hit a line drive to center field and filled two bases with no outs. Suprisong low-key and streamlined story. Very pleas...
