Re: Previews Spotlight #135 (Jan->Mar) Deadline: Tue AM, Jan

Really looking forward to this episode! I enjoyed everyone's submissions for the October episode in which the format was changed-up to accommodate vacation schedules. I think doing episodes like this now and then is a great idea.

Overdue feedback

John, it has been a long time since I've posted here on this forum, but I wanted you to know I really appreciate the work that you and your cohosts do, as well as all those involved here on the forum. I have been listening to the vast majority of your episodes and have not been providing feedback la...

Re: Marvel Digital Codes

John, I think you should sell your codes on eBay or something if you don't think you'll be redeeming them. I'll bet you could get at least a couple hundred dollars for all of them and maybe more. If you want to reduce the amount of work, you could just sell them as one lot.

Re: Marvel Unlimited

As near as I can tell, every current mainstream Marvel issue (meaning everything but things like Max titles) gets put on Marvel Unlimited six months after original publication. I love that because if you look at the original release date of each issue, you can predict fairly closely when it will go ...

Re: Congratulations on 1000 podcast episodes

Agreed! John, thanks so much for your hard work on this podcast. I echo everything said here. Really like your approach to the podcasting art form and appreciate your dedication. You are one of the first comic podcasts I listened to those many years ago and are still at the top of my playlist.

Re: JLA #2: No love for religion?

Agree. That is unfortunate. Where is DC's professed tolerance and embracing of diversity in this case?

Re: The problem with DC Comics

I've been particularly hard on DC lately, probably deservedly so, as their quality declined during the New 52. I really didn't have much hope for the new DC You initiative, but I have to admit, I've been pleasantly surprised by the new batch of titles...at least the 13 or so titles I'm following. I ...

Re: Mayo Report

John, I just listened to a podcast episode you (and everyone here) might find interesting. In the latest episode of iFanboy, Ron Richards returns to the show. He has concluded his time in the marketing department of Image and gave his co-hosts permission to ask him anything about his time there. I t...

Re: John's 2015 Vacation

John, wow! How can you stand going on vacation where there's nothing cool to look at? :) Glad you had an awesome time, and welcome home. The trip must have been fantastic. I've never been to that part of the world but would like to go someday and soak in the history. And nice job continuing to relea...

New 52: Future's End is picking up steam!

John,

THANK YOU for the heads-up to fans of DC's big picture to try out Future's End #41. I actually decided to start again at #40.

This DC fan is very happy. :)

Re: Comixology Pullist/Older Fans/Marvel Unlimited/Scribd ne

Thanks for all the kind words and input. I too read on a Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 and love it, however must agree the one flaw is the weight. Laying in bed or on the coach reading for an extended period of time really tires out your arm. Yes, it was surprising to me how the weight really can tire my arm...

Re: Disturbing number of 4.99 books from Marvel in May

If there was a service like it for DC, I could see shifting over to those services and saving a ton of money. DC needs to, IMO. Like Marvel's service, I think it would also serve as a sales funnel into the latest issues (for some customers, at least.) I would sign up immediately! I've got a coworke...

Re: DC: Convergence

I like the idea of more single issue stories. Focusing on the payoff per issue is always a good idea and doesn't mean there can't be some story elements that span issues. Single issue stories don't have to be literally done -in-one stories. Shifting away from chapters of a larger story that are inc...

Re: DC: Convergence

I was slipping away from new DC books for awhile, but the Convergence solicits hooked me and brought me back. I'm pretty excited about this event, for the most part.
