Re: Mayo Report

Listening to the September Trades Report while you and TJ tear into the Man Thing Vol 1 at Rank 11. Two words for you: Comic Bento. It was in the box this past month. Haven't read it yet, but I am not hopeful now. Also, no Runaways were in the past month's box, but the next box coming in a couple we...

Re: Possible Podcast Topic: Organizing Your Collection

I have 22 long boxes and one short box. I have kept my long boxes in alphabetical order for the whole time I have been collecting. After I read the new stuff, I put them in the short box and then once that is full, I sort them into their designated spots in the long boxes. The problem with this is t...

Re: 2015-2016 Television Ratings

I have no idea how Crazy Ex Girlfriend on the CW is getting renewed, what with its horrible ratings, but I can only be happy about it. I love that show. It gets lots of critical love, but not the viewers.

Re: Mayo Report

Wanted to comment about library usage. Ever since I moved to my town in the western Chicago suburbs that had a great library, I probably do over half of my comic book reading through it. However, it is usually stuff that I want to keep up on, but am not interested in enough to buy (non-Thor Marvel, ...

Re: In December 2016, what is your current favorite title?

I have been loving Brian Wood's new Aliens series, Aliens: Defiance. It is set between Alien and Aliens and tells the story of one person's (and a synthetics) struggle to stop Weyland-Yutani from getting their hands on some xenomorphs. The mood is great and Tristan Jone's artwork is great. I always ...

Re: Mayo Report

Hey guys, I just listened to the October Trades Mayo Report and you can probably guess what I am going to comment on....Comic Bento. A bunch of things you were pointing out in the podcast were due to Comic Bento. Comic Bento is estimated at around 2,500 sales a month. On the top was the Champions: N...

Re: Subscription Boxlight

Here is your September Comic Bento summary. It was a pretty good month. The theme was As Seen On TV. There were four books in the box this month. Rick and Morty Vol 1 (Oni Press) by Zac Gorman (W) and Marc Ellerby (A) The Blacklist Vol 1: The Gambler (No. 148) (Titan) by Nicole Philips (W) and Beni ...

Re: Subscription Boxlight

Hey John, It's amazing that you finally got a Comic Bento box!! I hope you stick with it and give it more chances. The boxes have turned me on to many amazing series, such as The Life After from Oni Press, Death Sentence and Chronos Commandos from Titan Comics, Green Hornet from Dynamite, many Valia...

Re: Collecting Original Art......

I finally went and purchased my first piece of original art. It was page 17 of Demon #57 drawn by John McCrea (and written by Garth Ennis). I have always loved this series, especially a speech Etrigan gives in issue #55. This was only $85 which is cheap compared to a lot of the other things I have s...

Re: Collecting Original Art......

I have recently been thinking about collecting original comic book art pages. Are there any specific reputable dealers (or non-reputable dealers) that you would recommend? Some of the prices can get crazy, but I have found some pieces online (http://splashpageart.comthat are reasonably priced.

Re: Subscription Boxlight

John, I also enjoyed the episode. From what it sounded like to me, only a few of the boxes you two get seem to be worth it over the long haul. Mostly lots of hits and misses. Sound right?

Here is your monthly Comic Bento update relating to the Diamond Sales list. The June box was themed "Fan Powered" and it ended up being an all Valiant month. I believe the Fan Powered theme comes in because in the box was Vol 1 of Faith (the ultimate fan girl). Here are where they showed u...

Re: Mayo Report

I had a thought about the May episode of the trades podcast. Could the reorder activity on Batman The Killing Joke be attributed to the July 25th (digital) release of the animated version of that story. The film will come out on Blu-ray on August 2nd. I understand Fathom Events will be screening th...

Re: Comixology Launches Unlimited Comic Subscription Model

Yeah, I just updated my Comixology app to get a 7 day sneak peak of Comixology Unlimited. Very underwhelmed. Enough to get you started a series, but in no way is this going to end weekly buying habits. Nothing current from the past year.
