Re: 1st issue Challenge
Uber #0,1 - Unfortunately the book is flawed on so many fronts. Many characters and plot lines are introduced at a dizzying pace. To compound this problem is the poor art. The artist struggles to draw recognizable characters. Everyone looks the same - the German generals, the blond spy and blond su...

Re: Jae Lee has Liefeld'itis
I think the difference is when Lee has to draw feet they looked normal, whereas Liefeld had serious problems....not to mention the other problems. But I've seen plenty of artists have bad hands/fingers/feet/toes. If they're small I guess they don't have much room to do them right, but I remember see...

Re: DC Gatefold Covers
I think the Flash wins the WTF moment, seeing as how the cover basically lies about what is in the issue. Sure he appears at the end, but someone seeing that cover might think a cool Reverse Flash story is in here. Nope. Actually I change my mind, I, Vampire wins the WTF moment for the past few issu...

Re: Fairest
I think if you buy the 2nd trade it will be great. The art is fantastic and the story .... I could tell the story was probably really good but I couldn't remember the story month to month. I read a lot of books so I tend to not blame a writer for that automatically, but if others feel the same way t...

Pilot Season The Test coming to Syfy
http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/04/10/top-cows-the-test-being-adapted-into-syfy-series-by-robert-zemeckis/ I think Top Cow's Pilot Season is pretty flawed, but this is good news for me. I loved "The Test" and was sad to see it lose to another book. But ... looks like it will be picked up ...

Re: World's Largest Private Comics Collection (for now).....
This is what it would look like if Bob moved I guess: http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/04/04/retail-therapy-this-is-what-a-million-comics-look-like/ :) Think about what your grand total would be if you didn't start that strict #1 policy. Just out of curiosity, what are your runs on Batman and Detect...

The Darkness is ending
http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=44686 Was it the plan from the beginning to end with "Darkness" #116? No, the plan was to keep the story rolling, but over the past few months it has become obvious that we are headed for some extreme events that demand a conclusion to...

Re: LET'S TALK: DC 2.0
I think if they were called prologues it'd be okay. If you're calling this parts 1, 2, 3 of a story? that's ridiculous. The problem is exaggerated by them shipping all 3 GL books on the same day (which is stupid). The similarities of all the stories is exaggerated when you read these things back-to...

Re: 1st issue Challenge
Sex #1 (Image) - Not much to take away from this book. To say it's all setup doesn't even begin because it's not even a full setup, it's like three mini-setups if I read it correctly. I guess some people will keep reading until the plot is really revealed, but I have too many other books to read to...

Re: LET'S TALK: DC 2.0
What do people think of "Wrath of the First Lantern"? Just read the 1st 3 parts & I'm seriously underwhelmed..... Not digging the "let's flash back to alternate ways a character's life could have turned out" story. I'm not intrinsically opposed to this kind of story, but the...

Re: Cover scale
What you are labeling as misleading I would label a misdirection. You come in expecting one thing, and you think you are seeing something else. At the end, they show you that yes you did get a version of what you thought you were getting. Well, if he becomes Darkhawk at the end then he wasn't Darkh...

Re: Cover scale
I thought of this thread after reading Avengers Arena #4. The cover shows X-23 and Darkhawk with the title "Island brawl to end them all!" ... X-23 vs. Darkhawk. After reading the book, that doesn't happen .... Darkhawk really isn't even in the book, and X-23 doesn't fight anyone either, ...

Re:
Garth Ennis' Red Team #1 (Dynamite) - This was essentially 20 pages of talking heads for $3.99. Ennis seems to me like he really wanted to write a police TV show & did a comic instead. While this may have been good on TV with actors livening it up with their performance, my reading of it in my ...

Re: Weekly Comics Spotlight Discussion
I thought the Legend of the Shadow Clan was pretty good. I can see what Bob's talking about but at the same time I didn't need to see more and I have a lot of questions to make me pick up #2. So one person says not enough payoff and another says that's the reason I'm excited for #2. I guess it depen...
