Re: New DC weekly series announced

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the "season" model. At least in terms of a starting a new volume of a title on a yearly basis. I don't really mind it when a television property gets a new "season" in comic book format. Yep, I'm with you on the "season" model on comic...

Re: New DC weekly series announced

I've been thinking that this is DC's new publishing strategy. Most of the new series they've launched that don't involve Batman/Superman/JL have more or less been D.O.A., so to keep the shelves filled with product they're trying these weeklies instead. Launching new books like The Movement, Green Te...

Re: DC announces plans for September and more

I wasn't excited about this to begin with, and now that I see the plans... FOUR Batman .1 issues (just the series titled BATMAN) at 3.99 an issue, only one of them written by Snyder? Same for Detective Comics. Same for Dark Knight, which has been a 2.99 book and now will be 3.99 for each of the FOU...

Re: 1st issue Challenge

G.I. Joe Special Missions This book I loved. The art was great, the story was interesting and had a lot going on. I can't wait to read the next issue and see where all these plot points are leading. Admittedly this issue had a lot of set up, but it was interesting set up. There was plenty of intere...

Re: LET'S TALK: DC 2.0

Just received my shipment and while flipping through Previews I noticed the Superman Unchained title has a $4.99 cover price for 32 pages. Yowza. Hardly a "try it out" friendly price. There is a poster included: This debut issue also includes a bonus two-sided, tipped-in poster measuring ...

Re: LET'S TALK: DC 2.0

I think if they were called prologues it'd be okay. If you're calling this parts 1, 2, 3 of a story? that's ridiculous. The problem is exaggerated by them shipping all 3 GL books on the same day (which is stupid). The similarities of all the stories is exaggerated when you read these things back-to...

Re: 1st issue Challenge

Justice League of America - I liked this book a lot. In this case I felt like the set-up was necessary to justify the existence of this team and separate it from the Justice League and the defunct JLI, and I found the dialogue between Waller and Trevor to be very interesting, giving insight as to w...

Re: LET'S TALK: Valiant

I love the way Valiant is rolling out these new/old characters. I read some Valiant back in the day, but wasn't a huge fan where I couldn't wait to see these characters again. It's just the way they're using the characters where they're integral parts of the stories they appear in as opposed to appe...

Re: Has Winter Solider been cancelled?

I pretty much ignore Bleeding Cool rumors. Actual news breaks plenty soon enough before something happens that knowing about it (maybe, if the rumor pans out) a week or 2 early is just extra churn. I understand. Just pointing out where the OP might have heard it. Plus you can usually guess what boo...

Re: LET'S TALK: DC 2.0

Assistance from you preview/future gazers, is Green off of Red Hood? He kept me on the book of Roquafort left but the lastest issue has a credit list like an animated movie but no Green. Would be a great time for me to drop the book but I do like his work... Thanks. Looks like he's moving to Suicid...

Re: Has Winter Solider been cancelled?

I remember reading an item from Rich Johnston on Bleeding Cool a few weeks back where it was rumored to be canceled, but nothing official yet. The thinking was that it would be safe with the upcoming Cap movie, but it's Marvel so they can just roll out another #1. I did drop it after Brubaker left. ...

It's been a long time since I went back and reread something old, but I do reread some current books: Batman - It's such a good story and great to look at. Uncanny X-Force - Just an amazing run. Wonder Woman - I find that I get more out of this series when I read it a second time. And it's great to ...

That is a great deal! Especially to a guy who probably paid $200 w/shipping for the two sets from an online dealer when they were near-impossible to find in stores. The Darkseid and Anti-Monitor figures are really cool. Enjoy!
